SEOUL FASHION WEEK FW19: MUNN
MÜNN Fall/Winter 2019 collection review.
Words Hadjer Hamadi, Media Seoul Fashion Week
MÜNN came back this season with a full « Blossom & Enlightenment » theme. As usual, the great designer HAN HYUN MIN captivated us. He, with a disconcerting ease, succeed at combining the well-known European tailoring with flat hanbok cuttings. Thus, from a dark palette that transitions to white , without forgetting the vivid colors in between, he mixed different fabrics, different styles and orchestrated a breathtaking show.
The talented designer sublimed his new collection through a mix of utility-jacket-like tailoring cuts combined with loose hanbok trousers. For a still trendy sportswear touch, there are inclusions of strings details and camouflage jackets. In contrast, the fine stripes create a romantic and gentle mood. Different textiles and different colors unite for a sensuous feeling; a delicate, beautiful and riveting show.
Though MÜNN wasn’t the first to try combining asian techniques with European ones, they once again stand out from the crowd.
